Google's claim of quantum supremacy made the headlines. Wait, but...
Why did they use cross-entropy as benchmarking? Why did they use iSWAP gates instead of Controlled-Z gates? What happened to their broken qubit? What's IBM's claim against it? If you find those questions intriguing, you are at the right place. Welcome to Quantum Computing Club at UCI (QC@UCI)!
QC@UCI was founded by passionate undergraduate and graduate students from various backgrounds. From the very beginning, we aim to connect people from different fields and encourage everyone to learn something new as the inherently interdisciplinary nature of quantum computing and quantum information suggests. Moreover, we hope to stimulate the research and general interest towards this topic at UCI.
But how? We have planned 3 kinds of activities
Paper discussion sessions to keep you informed with the latest advancement.
Presentations from students, professors and industry speakers to give you a taste of QC.
Projects will be led by experienced students. Find a project of your interest or invent your own!
Please join our slack workspace for more information! Whatever background you may have, as long as you find QC interesting, we look forward to your participation and contribution!
For those with QC/QI related research experience, we have something special for you. Please shoot us an email to find which particle is in the box.
